Any time the word “safety” comes up in the manufacturing world there is usually at least a mention of OSHA. Generally speaking, when OSHA gets involved it’s for bad reasons. To keep OSHA at bay, a service known as OSHCON is available to help you see some of your blind spots. As a new Director of HR and Safety, I figured it was time to help see some of my blind spots, so I signed up for them to come out and tour our facility. The consultant was very knowledgeable and we were able to walk our whole property in a half of a day. Along the way, they pointed out some of the issues we had on our property as well as some things we could think about implementing in the future. All around it was a positive experience, and we plan on having them back out later this year and in the years to come.
